About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?

 

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Infrastructure Trainer to join our Rail Training team in Spotswood (VIC).  The main purpose of this role is to provide workplace training and assessment for Road-Rail & Civil Plant Operators within our national Rail business, providing the knowledge and skills required to operate Road-Rail & Civil Plant and Equipment, understanding the safety critical aspects of working on the railway. 

 

Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;

 

  • Developing training packages in accordance with operational requirements
  • Delivering Nationally Accredited training to John Holland and sub-contractor personnel from the Transport and Logistics Training Package
  • Training & Assessing personnel in Road-Rail Vehicles and/or Track Machines and other miscellaneous Rail & Civil Plant and Equipment
  • Assisting curriculum designers in developing new material by acting as Subject Matter Experts and participating in the validation and piloting process
  • Act as relationship builders within the business, providing key training information and advice to Operational Personnel
  • Providing mentoring to John Holland field personnel
  • Ensure that training and assessments both in the classroom and field are delivered in a way that provides a safety focus and risk analysis to ensure the safety of trainees and continuous improvement across Rail business sites
  • Seek innovating methods for delivering training and assessments in line with safety and operational requirements

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;

 

  • Operator knowledge of road-rail vehicles and/or track machines
  • Experience within a Rail Network/ Infrastructure maintenance & construction
  • Classroom facilitation experience
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • Cert II & III in Rail Infrastructure
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • High Risk Work License preferably with any of the following being an advantage- Forklift, EWP, Crane, Dogging and Rigging
  • Medium or Heavy Rigid drivers licence
  • Experience within the TLI Transport and Logistics package for Rail Infrastructure (Accreditation in SX52 Safely Access Rail Corridor would be an advantage)
  • Ideally have Subject Matter Expertise in Hi Rail machine operation, preferably hold 3 machine qualifications and relevant demonstrated experience:

                -Hi Rail MEWP,
                -Hi Rail Crane
                -Hi Rail Excavator
                -Hi Rail Dump Truck
                -Hi Rail Truck – Flat bed/crane or tip truck
                -Forklift
                -Frontend Loader
