About the Project
John Holland is progressing the development of Stage 1A of the multi-stage Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal project, a pivotal development set to transform the logistics landscape in Victoria, Australia. This initial phase marks the beginning of a journey towards creating a state-of-the-art facility that will streamline the movement of goods across the nation and beyond.
Strategically located to harness the full potential of its proximity to key transport links, Beveridge is poised to deliver unparalleled efficiencies in the distribution of freight. With the latest advancements in logistics technology at its core, Stage 1A lays the groundwork for a hub of innovation, ensuring that cargo is moved with unprecedented speed and precision.

About the Role
John Holland are seeking an accomplished Senior Finance Manager to contribute to Stage 1A of the Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal project.
The Senior Finance Manager is responsible for leading the financial management and administration functions to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and cost control.
Provide strategic financial oversight, drive governance and efficiency, and support the project team by managing budgets, contracts, and stakeholder relationships to achieve optimal financial outcomes.
Responsibilities of the role include
- Provide strong leadership to build and maintain high-performing finance and administration teams, ensuring all team members are well-trained, competent, and empowered to achieve their objectives while demonstrating initiative and ownership in their roles
- Develop, implement, and oversee approved accounting practices to ensure financial and operational reports accurately reflect the project’s performance, providing reliable insights for effective decision-making and management control
- Lead the preparation and delivery of financial reports and information in compliance with statutory, regulatory, and project-specific requirements
- Ensure all financial and administrative activities align with relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, contractual obligations, and John Holland’s ethical standards and policies
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of accounting methods, governance processes, and compliance practices, ensuring adherence to approved procedures and industry best practices
- Ensure all financial and administrative activities are conducted in accordance with John Holland’s policies, processes, systems, and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.
- Monitor and manage financial performance to achieve cost efficiencies, meet project budgets, and deliver optimal financial outcomes
- Provide expert guidance on contractual and commercial matters, ensuring a thorough understanding of Head Contract and subcontract agreements to mitigate risks and maximise financial performance
- Foster a culture of excellence within the finance and administration function by promoting governance, accountability, innovation, and transparency, while ensuring performance is measured and reported against established objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through proactive, professional, and transparent communication to ensure alignment and keep all parties informed of key financial and project developments
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback for direct and indirect reports in line with John Hollands’s performance management and development framework, supporting their professional growth and development.
To be successful in this role we are looking for
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor level) in discipline relevant to function area e.g. Management/Finance/Commerce/Accounting/Business CA or CPA Qualified
- Post graduate qualification in business administration/business management, Commerce or Law
Experience
- Significant relevant management experience at a senior manager level.
- 10-12 years’ experience with an appropriate degree or diploma.
- Responsibility for three to four professional accounting staff.
- 5-10 years management experience at a senior level
- Multi-discipline experience in the construction industry, major industrial organisation or adjacent sectors to construction
- Experience in leading project or specialist function activities
- Experience in Banking and Finance, or Finance and Administration function on projects within a corporate environment and International experience and if from banking previous corporate client side experience.
