About the Project
John Holland is progressing the development of Stage 1A of the multi-stage Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal project, a pivotal development set to transform the logistics landscape in Victoria, Australia.
This initial phase marks the beginning of a journey towards creating a state-of-the-art facility that will streamline the movement of goods across the nation and beyond.
Strategically located to harness the full potential of its proximity to key transport links, it is poised to deliver unparalleled efficiencies in the distribution of freight. With the latest advancements in logistics technology at its core, Stage 1A lays the groundwork for a hub of innovation, ensuring that cargo is moved with unprecedented speed and precision.

About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?
As a Site Engineer on our Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal Precinct you will be an integral part of our construction team, playing a key role in the successful delivery of the project.
As a Site Engineer, you will be involved in the planning, design, and execution of the project, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
Your expertise in engineering principles and construction techniques will be essential in maintaining the highest quality standards and achieving project objectives. Your role will be pivotal in the completion of this project, showcasing your advanced skills and flexibility, which will be particularly challenged due to the project's complex staging in a developed, brownfield environment.
Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;
Overall responsibility for the role on this high-profile major project includes:
- Manage daily on-site engineering activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities.
- Monitor site progress and ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and safety regulations.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to ensure quality outcomes.
- Identify and resolve technical or design issues with stakeholders and contractors.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, cost forecasts, and documentation as required.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver project objectives.
- Contribute to a culture of safety, innovation, and teamwork.
To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a site engineering role, preferably within rail, civil, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of rail and civil construction methodologies, standards, and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to safety and quality.
- Relevant rail safety and construction industry certifications (desirable).
