About the Project:

 

John Holland is progressing the development of Stage 1A of the multi-stage Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal (BIFT) project, a pivotal development set to transform the logistics landscape in Victoria, Australia. This initial phase marks the beginning of a journey towards creating a state-of-the-art facility that will streamline the movement of goods across the nation and beyond.

 

Strategically located to harness the full potential of its proximity to key transport links, BIFT is poised to deliver unparalleled efficiencies in the distribution of freight. With the latest advancements in logistics technology at its core, Stage 1A lays the groundwork for a hub of innovation, ensuring that cargo is moved with unprecedented speed and precision.

About the Role / Are you up for the challenge?

 

As a Traffic Project Engineer on the BIFT project, you are essential in managing and executing the traffic components of our expansive infrastructure work. 

 

Your expertise will guide the traffic engineering strategies and operations, ensuring the safe and efficient flow of vehicles during project execution. 

 

You will play a key role in minimising disruptions and ensuring that traffic solutions are sustainable, innovative, and compliant with regulatory standards.

 

Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;

 

  • Design and implement traffic management plans for the BIFT Stage 1A project, maximising safety and minimising disruption. 
  • Collaborate with construction teams to integrate traffic flow with ongoing project phases and ensure continuity of operations. 
  • Monitor and adapt traffic strategies in response to construction activities and external factors to maintain efficiency. 
  • Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure traffic plans meet regulatory requirements and community needs. 
  • Conduct site assessments to anticipate potential traffic issues and develop proactive mitigation strategies. 
  • Analyse traffic flow data to improve project traffic operations and report on performance metrics. 
  • Provide technical support and guidance on traffic-related matters to project team members and subcontractors. 
  • Ensure that all traffic management activities align with John Holland's commitment to safety and sustainability.

To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;

 

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on traffic management within construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of traffic management software and tools.
  • Experience in developing and executing traffic management plans for large-scale construction projects.
  • A strong understanding of local traffic regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate multiple tasks and teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing project demands.
  • A commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and quality in traffic management practices.
  • The capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced project environment.
