About the Role

We are looking to speak to Project Managers at all levels with demonstrated work experience on major projects for upcoming opportunities in our growing Building QLD/NT business unit.

Lead the successful delivery of a project (normally valued under $500m) in accordance with design requirements, time and cost constraints, and commercial, HR, safety, quality, and environment and community targets. Achieve or exceed project financial targets, identifying and mitigating issues as they arise and capitalising on opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall delivery of the project, on or ahead of time with all client expectations met
  • ­Assign resources to deliver the works within budget, time, quality and regulatory standards, monitor and guide workflow, setting daily, weekly, and long-term project goals
  • ­Manage the execution of engineering, procurement and construction activities and adopt appropriate construction methods
  • ­Review progress against plans, contractual arrangements and delivery milestones to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates and take effective remedial action as required
  • ­Financial management: Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, take corrective action in line with authority and reporting frameworks and maximise the profit margin for the project
  • ­Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental management
  • ­Demonstrate leadership in risk management, compliance and auditing, and ensure legislative, pre-contract and commercial obligations are met, including compliance with the relevant Building Code ­
  • Stakeholder management: Ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged and that beneficial relationships between the project and the client, subcontractors, community and other external parties are developed and maintained ­
  • People management: Monitor staff and labour resourcing to ensure the project has the capability to achieve targets, supervise workforce, including subcontractors, and foster a high performance team within a positive employee relations environment ­
  • Contribute to new business, continuous improvement and broader business activities ­
  • Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Construction Management, Business or equivalent
  • Management of multidisciplinary projects and project teams ­
  • Contemporary practices in design and construction methodology .
  • Client relationship and stakeholder management ­ and ­ analysis of project performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance
  • Contractual, legal, commercial, industrial relations and legislative compliance management ­
  • People and performance management including the performance of subcontractors. ­
  • Quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment
