About the opportunity

John Holland is looking for an experienced Quality Manager to join our Infrastructure & Major Projects division on the Sunshine Coast. This is an exciting opportunity to work on projects spanning tunnelling, energy, transport and water infrastructure.

 

You’ll be accountable to develop, recommend and implement a quality assurance programme to ensure statutory and contractual compliance with quality requirements on the assigned project.

Responsibilities of the role include

  • Implement and manage the Quality Management System to meet quality objectives and targets
  • Ensure project compliance with ISO and AS/NZS regulatory requirements
  • Identify, manage, and monitor quality objectives, risks, and issues that may impact project delivery
  • Provide guidance and support to project leadership team for quality culture and business improvement
  • Maintain robust risk management processes and discipline for quality
  • Offer technical quality expertise for the project
  • Ensure workplace understands and meets regulatory and legal obligations related to quality
  • Handle client expectations and communicate effectively with project team
  • Select and develop staff to enhance quality assurance competences
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to quality staff
  • Understand compliance and reporting procedures and communicate requirements
  • Perform duties aligned with company policies, processes, systems, and procedures

To be successful in this key role, you’ll have the following

  • 3 - 5 years’ demonstrated experience as a Quality Manager with a tier one contractor operating in the infrastructure industry
  • Quality assurance gained on tunnelling projects, with experience with hard rock drill and blast tunnelling ideal
  • Advanced Diploma or Lead Auditor Qualification in Engineering, Science, Building, Construction, Quality Management or Project Management
  • Strong communication skills, and strong team leadership ability
