Are you up for the challenge?

We are looking for a talented Bid Writer to join our submissions group.  This role will be based out of the Pyrmont office in Sydney.

This position will see you working collaboratively with subject matter experts to develop tailored content for bids and proposals.  You will interview resources to collect meaningful data to write project data sheets and CVs and proofread and edit technical content to ensure compliant and customer-focused EOIs, tenders, and associated communications.

About the Role

  • Assist with content development of bids and proposals during the bid planning, bid delivery and post submission phases
  • Work with Submissions Manager, Submissions Coordinator, Project Development/Bid Managers to coordinate bid strategy workshops and develop win themes and key messages
  • Implement bid development processes e.g. Writing & Graphics Style Guides and Lead Author Response Outlines
  • Provide project information to the Graphic Designer to develop graphics and bid branding that illustrate win strategies
  • Develop, write and edit bids and proposals aligned to win strategies and John Holland business strategy, branding and market position
  • Review client requirements and questions to provide SMEs with a clear framework of their response.
  • Interview resources to obtain measurable data to write project data sheets and CVs.
  • Write and edit industry award submissions
  • Review, edit and proofread bid content to ensure high-quality and compliant submissions
  • Manage positive internal and external stakeholder relationships to enhance the development of bids and proposals
  • Educate bid teams to effectively utilise bid & proposals standard processes.

About You

As a Bid Writer, you will need to have an excellent command of the English language and high-quality writing, editing, and proofreading skills.  You will have a degree qualification in Journalism, Publishing, Media & Communications, Marketing, Law or equivalent, as well as advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite.

With previous experience writing and editing technical material - ideally leading content development of submissions in a similar industry - you have a solid foundation for success in this role. 

You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and revisions with ease.  Proven experience successfully working to deadlines showcases your ability to deliver high-quality work within tight timeframes. Your ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels, both internally and externally, will be key to delivering exceptional results.
