Job Description

We are currently looking to engage a Commissioning Lead, to join our Technology, Engineering and Knowledge (TEK) team in Melbourne, with the initial engagement being to lead the commissioning management for the North East Link joint venture tender and delivery.
 
Key responsibilities of the role include:


Provide leadership and technical knowledge (both internally and externally), to develop the commissioning strategy for the tender bid. Upon successful award of the bid, implement and deliver the commissioning strategy to ensure effective commissioning management through the project.
Detailed understanding of plant and equipment requirements (both quantity and quality (specification)) and compatibility against project plans and requirements to ensure construction, commissioning and handover, recommending modifications where required.
Develop and review commissioning plans, test procedures and schedules, develop and own financial forecasts and budget to maximise efficiencies and profit.
Guide the work of the team to apply best practice and innovative thinking, recommending methods for improving and enabling design, delivery and productivity
Oversight and implementation of commissioning activities as per John Holland and project specific requirements, policy and procedures; coordinating on-site engineering function to safely achieve schedule and financial objectives and ensuring commissioning is integrated and considered during design and construction phase activities.
There will be a requirement to travel as part of the role to service other tenders / projects, which may extend to international travel as well as domestic.
 
To be successful in this role, the following skills are required;


Degree level qualification in Engineering or relevant equivalent. Suitably experienced and skilled technicians are also encouraged to apply.
Minimum 10 years + building/civil infrastructure (or Oil & Gas) commissioning experience, ideally with a combination of complex Building and Civil infrastructure experience in commissioning management of the associated Mechanical, Electrical and Control systems. Preferably experience in tunnels, water infrastructure, data Centres, hospitals or mission critical facilities.
Design experience of Mechanical, electrical or control systems is desirable.
Ability to engage and assimilate with a team of well-established professionals in both tender and delivery stage and create positive client relationships.
Capable of agile working across multiple multi-disciplinary teams.
An affinity for continuous improvement and innovation, applying learnings to ‘real world’ tender and project delivery environments.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to visualise and demonstrate to the team with software the methods and solutions, to further explain the work being developed.
