About the Role

We are interested in hearing from Contracts Administrators ideally with experience on a major infrastructure project with exposure to design, construction and commissioning. In this role you will assist with the contractual administration of subcontractors and major suppliers, ensuring the client contract requirements and company policies and processes are applied. This role will support the Commercial Department in appropriately managing the procurement, contracts administration and the claims, variations and payment authorisation process as required. This is a project-based role adjacent to the Sydney Airport on the Botany Rail Development.

Key Functions will include:

  • Procurement and Negotiation of various civil, engineering, supply and construction contracts
  • Good understanding of construction regulations and law
  • Strong attention to detail and capacity to meet tight deadlines
  • Supporting the management of the processes for extensions of time, variations and claims for additional payments
  • Working collaboratively with all Project Departments, providing support on relevant contract administration matters
  • Ensuring documents are adequately prepared, reviewed and approved prior to their issue for use
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, guidelines and standards regarding Document Control
  • Negotiation and administration of subcontract packages
  • Forecasting and commercial reporting
  • General assistance of commercial matters

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Completion of a relevant degree qualification or relevant equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in Contracts Administration working for a major international tier 1 construction contractor
  • Strong data management, analytical, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Excel)
  • High level of interpersonal and effective communication skills to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience on major infrastructure construction operations of similar scale
  • Effective in technical problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work within a team or autonomously
  • Ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to manage stress and work-load under pressure
  • Ability to work closely with safety and other departments to control and maintain project safety standards
  • Able to handle several tasks at once and meet multiple deadlines
