About the Role
The Safety Manager plays a crucial role on our projects by implementing and controlling safety management requirements, strategies, and initiatives.
Leading a team of HSES professionals and working closely with the Project Leadership Team and other key stakeholders, their expertise and dedication to maintaining a safe workplace will contribute to the overall success of the project.
Responsibilities of the role include:
• Provide technical support to the Project Leadership Team to develop and implement an effective culture that is focused on HSC
• Drive, monitor, report and continuously improve HSC performance for the project
• Develop and implement HSC education as well as compliance and improvement programs for employees, clients, contractors and visitors
• Develop and guide project safety professionals
• Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory and company safety requirements
What we are looking for:
• Advanced Diploma Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
• Experience working on $100m+ building projects
• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Safety, Environmental, Project Management or other associated disciplines ¬TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
• Construction safety management (5+ years)
• Audit management practices (2-3 years)
• Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects
• Knowledge of Safety legislation and statutes (especially those relating to Comcare), and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to Project
• Knowledge of Environmental legislation and statutes, and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to Project
