About John Holland

We are currently seeking a motivated Electrical & Communications Supervisor to join our Rail Infrastructure team. This role will provide critical support to our Rail Infrastructure Services business and John Holland’s Major Projects.

 

Based in Seven Hills, NSW, the successful candidate will initially support the Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone (HCC REZ) project. This significant initiative involves upgrading the existing electricity network and constructing two new substations to enable connections to a range of renewable energy sources, advancing the Hunter region’s clean energy future. The project aims to deliver more than 1 GW of renewable energy capacity while minimising environmental and community impact.

 

This role will  be based in the Hunter region for the first 12 months . The successful candidate will be expected to work on site Monday - Friday throughout this period. After the project completion the role will be based out of our Seven Hills depot.

 

Key Responsibilities:

-Contribute to development of work methods and plan daily/weekly production work.

-Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key personnel informed.

-Complete progress reporting, and activities, reports for shift handovers and consistent regular reporting to the Superintendent or Project Manager

-Ensure compliance of commercial and financial costs including budgets

-Provide and take leadership responsibility in health, safety and environmental management.

-Read and understand plans, review design documentation, read drawings, and provide constructive review and implementation of final designs

-Identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and contribute to build a risk management culture.

-Select, train and develop leading hands and ensure the observance of safety, other work standards and fair and reasonable application of industrial agreements.

 

 

 

To be successful:

-Electrical trade qualifications with 7+ years experience and be the Electrical Nominee on site and perform those duties when necessary,

-Experience within electrical distribution, utilities, Rail or ASP contractor environments

-ACMA and/or Open Cabler License desirable,

-Communications and Scada experience including fibre splicing is desirable,

-Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings schematics and construction documentation,

-Solid understanding of construction safety systems and site based risk management

-Proven ability to lead teams coordinate subcontractors, and drive site delivery outcomes in fast paced environments,

-A strong relationship builder, with the ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder partnerships while ensuring adherence to commercial and financial governance requirements.
