The Project

John Holland, CPB Contractors and Ghella Joint Venture (JCG) has commenced design and construction work for the Sydney Metro West - Eastern Tunnelling Package (ETP). 

 

ETP includes the construction of 3.5-kilometre tunnels under Sydney Harbour between The Bays and the Sydney CBD, and the excavation of Pyrmont and Hunter Street stations. This is the final piece in the puzzle to deliver the city-shaping Sydney Metro West project.

The role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join the team where you will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide appropriate support and advice regarding the environmental aspects, risks, and requirements under state legislation.
  • Conduct environmental assessments and inspections on site.
  • Undergo audits and inspections to assess environmental performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide expert knowledge, support, and skills to facilitate risk control and promote a positive environmental culture on the project.
  • Support and help ensure accuracy of appropriate planning and forecasting for the delivery and formulate and input data for reporting.
  • Provide advice and support to key internal stakeholders regarding environmental risks management measures.
  • Help manage the project environmental management activities in a manner that is compliant with the requirement of relevant applicable state planning and environmental agencies and bodies.
  • Support the Projects Environmental Manager in other key initiatives and responsibilities as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Current drivers’ licence and Construction Induction Card (white card)
  • 3+ years' experience in an Environmental Advisory role.  
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation, regulatory compliance, and strong accuracy to report on monthly reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a wide range of environmental functional activities.
  • Strong relationship building skills at all levels and able to gain credibility quickly and effectively with an ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
