The Project:
Sydney Metro West is a transformational 24 km underground railway connecting Sydney CBD to Parramatta, with stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street.
The Linewide package connects the entire system, delivering the critical rail infrastructure and technology that bring the metro network to life.
Project offices are located across several Sydney locations including the CBD, Clyde, Rosehill, The Bays and Burwood North.
The Role:
As a Finance Administrator, you will support the day-to-day financial administration of project activities, ensuring invoices and financial records are processed accurately and efficiently.
You will play a key role in managing invoice payments, maintaining financial documentation, and supporting projects teams with finance-related processes.
Working closely with the project and finance teams, you will help ensure supplier invoices are processed in a timely manner and financial systems are maintained with a high level of accuracy. This role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced infrastructure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enforce standardised project administration process, systems, and documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance
- Assist in processing supplier invoices and subcontractor claims and variations and Schedule of Rates.
- Timely processing of dockets, purchase orders and invoices to enable accurate End of Month reporting
- Ensure all administrative activities, processes, and procedures comply with John Holland standards
- Process invoices, purchase orders (POs), and expense claims in line with project procedures
- Verify accuracy of financial documentation and ensure proper approvals are obtained
- Manage supplier payments and ensure timely processing
About You:
- Previous experience in finance administration, accounts payable or a similar role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing financial data and invoices
- Reliable, organised and able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
- Confident using Excel and working with spreadsheets and financial systems
- Experience using financial or ERP software is highly regarded
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with site teams and suppliers
- Positive, proactive and team-oriented attitude
- Resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment
