About the Role

This senior role leads our Survey & Geospatial function across Major Projects, Infrastructure, Rail and Building. You’ll set the strategic direction for survey capability, develop and maintain consistent systems and processes, and champion best‑practice survey and data management across the project lifecycle. You’ll also lead our Survey Cohort, support both pre‑contracts and delivery teams, and oversee the effective use of technical specialists, subcontractors and spatial technology vendors. Your work will lift capability across the organisation and ensure we deliver consistently across a broad range of complex projects.

What you will do;

  • Set the strategic direction - develop and implement the Survey & Geospatial Strategy, and lead the supporting governance, processes and procedures
  • Drive integrated data and digital workflows - champion best‑practice data management across Design, Digital Engineering, GIS and Survey using common data environments, systems and technology
  • Build organisational capability - establish and maintain a capability framework with clear competency standards to support consistency, development and mobility across teams  
  • Lead and engage the Survey Cohort - work closely with Business Unit and project leaders to ensure best practice and standards are applied consistently, resource planning across civil and infrastructure projects
  • Support pre‑contracts and delivery - provide technical advice during tenders and support civil and earthworks quantification
  • Oversee survey technologies and solutions - guide the delivery and integration of survey technologies, machine control, guidance systems, and UAV/TLS/MLS reality capture
  • Manage technical partners and vendors - lead relationships with survey specialists, subconsultants and spatial technology vendors
  • Provide technical authority - offer expert guidance on survey practices, spatial information systems, and data validation and verification
  • Champion communication, training and collaboration - coach teams, share knowledge, and support cohesive ways of working across information‑management groups

What we are looking for;

You’ll be a highly experienced survey and geospatial professional with substantial experience in the tender and delivery of large complex and multidisciplinary projects. You’ll bring a mix of technical depth, strong commercial capability and the ability to lead and develop teams.

  • Tertiary degree in Surveying or Spatial Science.
  • Post‑graduate qualifications in Surveying or Spatial Science (desirable)
  • Advanced understanding of project and construction management
  • Senior leadership experience across large multidisciplinary construction projects, $500m+
  • Strong background in pre‑contracts environment working across multiple concurrent tenders with a Main Contractor
  • Experience across a number of contract types (Construct only, D&C, Alliance etc.) and industry (civil, heavy industry, roads, tunnelling, water, rail)
