About our TEK Lift & Shift Services Team

 

TEK’s Lift & Shift team provides full lifecycle construction engineering support to precontract and project delivery teams across all aspects of materials handling, logistics, including cranes, lifting, heavy haulage and specialised lift and transport. With a focus on developing tailored and cost-effective solutions, the L&S team supports bid and project teams to optimise construction methods, including equipment selection, and ensure compliance requirements are met. The team draws on its extensive experience across many industry sectors and extensive library of construction methods to provide onsite and offsite support.

About the Position

 

We are currently looking for an experienced Heavy Lift Engineer to join our TEK (Technology, Engineering and Knowledge) division based in our Pyrmont office. Working within our TEK Lift & Shift Services team, reporting into our Group Manager – Lift & Shift Services, you will be accountable for developing lift and constructability methodologies during precontracts and project delivery.


Your key tasks will include (but not limited to):

 

  • Develop lift and constructability methodologies during precontracts and delivery including detailed planning providing support and assistance with temporary works, equipment selection of cranes and specialised lift / shift equipment
  • Provide lift and logistical support to assigned projects including design, lift plan development and vetting, heavy lift supervision and construction methodology refinement
  • Design and implement turnkey construction methodologies with the collaboration of the Lift & Shift team from bid to delivery
  • Support crane competency lift planning and lifting procedures for use on assigned projects
  • Provide advice on the requirements of Legislation and Regulations, Codes of Practice, Australian and international standards relevant to lifting, transport and rigging.
  • Promote a culture of knowledge sharing across the region, which drives innovation and learnings throughout the business.
  • Financial management including driving behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets
  • Assist with lifting operations education and awareness across the project.

 

To be successful, you’ll have the following:

 

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Extensive experience in heavy lift & transport engineering, development/planning, coordination, and site management
  • Industry experience across sectors; SMP, Heavy Engineering, Marine, Building, Infrastructure or Rail.
