About the Role

This pivotal role requires a seasoned specialist to drive, implement and embed our Inclusion & Diversity Strategy in order effect change, and shift the dial in the construction industry. You will partner and collaborate with I&D leaders across our business units and projects, and your track record in influencing and shifting mindsets will enable you to make your mark and leave a high impact and lasting legacy. You will be managing and leading a portfolio that covers inclusion and inclusive leadership, key areas of diversity, and working closely with leaders from across the business to deliver and maintain our I&D strategy. This is a 12 month parental leave cover, and can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne.

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Deliver on the inclusion and diversity strategy and supporting initiatives in line with the John Holland 2025 strategy and the People Strategy.
  • Coordinate inclusion and diversity programs and work closely with TD&D and People Teams to operationalise the I&D agenda.
  • Partner with TD&D and People Teams to ensure inclusion and diversity initiatives and measures are in place across all business units and projects.
  • Manage cross functional relationships to ensure consistency in program implementation, and network across industry to gain understanding of best practice.
  • Develop and implement action plans across gender equality, people with disabilities, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, mature age workers and gender balance in leadership.
  • Partner with the Social Inclusion & Procurement function in embedding the JH reconciliation action plan (RAP)
  • Establish innovative ways to further build advocacy for inclusion & diversity within John Holland.
  • Support the setup of additional employee driven inclusion networks, provide ongoing assistance and manage the overarching Inclusion & Diversity Council.
  • Further embed flexible working practises, including education of leaders.
  • Facilitate capability development programs and webinars on a regular basis.
  • Business partnering with the Corporate business unit in consulting on and delivering Talent, Diversity & Development solutions, including individual development plans, talent discussions, training requirements, emerging talent and personality assessment debriefs.

To be successful in this key role, you must demonstrate;

  • Strong experience in a similar role across Organisational Development, Inclusion & Diversity, Learning or generalist Human Resources
  • Proven relationship building, consultation, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • A background in facilitation of development sessions and delivering presentations to senior stakeholders
  • Track record in conducting needs analysis and proposing recommended solutions
  • History of organisational planning and ability to manage multiple workstreams in complex stakeholder environments
  • Experience working with confidential data and a mature approach to sensitive information
  • Knowledge of:
    • Inclusion and diversity best practises and reporting requirements
    • Learning and development processes
    • Steps for successful implementation of initiatives and programs
    • Stakeholder consultation and HR business partnering
    • Performance and career conversations, awareness of talent processes
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
