About you and the role

You’re a skilled change communications professional with internal experience in large and complex organisations, who’s comfortable working with senior leadership teams to influence their communications and align with organisational strategy. You will partner closely with our People, Strategy, Customer and Corporate Affairs teams in defining, articulating and delivering the key messages that support a comprehensive change agenda.

You will be confident in rolling out effective and engaging internal communications, supporting, coaching and influencing senior level stakeholders and driving change and engagement programs.

You will have freedom and license to shape communication plans, and to drive and deliver creative content and campaigns to reflect what is happening in the People space.

Your skill in internal communications will help showcase the amazing work John Holland delivers, reflecting our projects and people to the broader business, and your change communications expertise will cut through the noise to maximise engagement.

Accountabilities of the role include;

  • Partnering with key leaders to deliver internal communications and change strategies.
  • Influencing and supporting senior leaders to communicate and lead change effectively with their teams and in line with our business strategy, brand and values
  • Providing strategic advice on best practice internal and change communications, helping leaders and people move from current to future state
  • Developing content and supporting major stakeholder events – forums, briefings, town halls, etc 
  • Developing engaging and creative content for business-wide internal communications channels, including magazine, Workplace, intranet and email
  • Staying abreast of business culture, mood and what resonates with our people through stakeholder engagement, data and insights
  • Collaborating with Customer and Corporate Affairs to drive integrated communications and change campaigns, issues and major corporate events
  • Championing the John Holland brand across all internal channels and live our values
  • Seeking opportunities to improve engagement with between employees, leaders and corporate communications

To be successful in this key role, you must have;

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline eg Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Stakeholder Management
  • Experience in a similar internal communications and change communications role in a large and complex organisation
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior leaders
  • Desire to get your hands dirty, talk to our people and understand the impact of corporate communications
  • An abundance of creative ideas to engage our people and highlight the work we do, coupled with an attention to detail so we get it right.
