About The Project

Sydney Metro West is a transformational 24 km underground railway connecting Sydney CBD to Parramatta, with stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street.

 

The Linewide package connects the entire system, delivering the critical rail infrastructure and technology that bring the metro network to life.

 

Project offices are located across several Sydney locations including the CBD, Clyde, Rosehill, The Bays and Burwood North.

About The Role:

Reporting to the OCS Senior Project Engineer. The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate OCS construction activities within the tunnels from Westmead to Hunter Street to ensure that assigned construction works are completed to the client’s satisfaction and to meet quality, time and profit objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure scope is delivered safely, to the highest quality standard and to budget.
  • Management of cost for direct activities, including up to date cost tracking and accurate forecasting.           
  • Manage and co-ordinate planning for OCS scope­.            
  • Ensure the quality systems are followed during delivery­.            
  • Procurement of critical materials and resources.        
  • Training and upskilling of indirect reports; and­ management of internal resources such as John Holland Plant and Rail Services division.
  • Manage and co-ordinate site activities along with OCS Superintendent.

About You:

 

  • Proven experience in Civil and Rail construction, preferably with exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies related to civil rail engineering works.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams across multiple sites with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Proficient in project management, including planning, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with all levels of the organization and external parties.
  • A commitment to upholding health and safety standards and promoting a culture of safety within the team.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and site-based conditions..
