About the Role

Our John Holland OHW team prides itself in finding the safest, most efficient solutions for constructing OHW systems in an ever changing dynamic environment.  We place safety as our number one priority and strive to succeed to ensure high quality outcomes for our partners and clients in building and maintaining Rail Infrastructure.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated Trades Assistants to support our Rail Traction and Distribution teams based in Seven Hills in full-time roles.  Reporting to the Depot Manager, these roles will support our Rail Services business in maintaining & constructing local Rail Infrastructure as well as the construction of John Holland’s Major Projects locally and around the country.
Works are predominantly in Sydney but we also support projects interstate as required.  There will be a requirement for nightshift as well as weekend work to deliver for our clients and customers.

Responsibilities of the role:


  • Supporting Rail Traction & Distribution Lineworkers to deliver Rail Infrastructure works
  • Pre-assembly/Fabrication of OHW assemblies
  • Concreting/Carpentry tasks associated with the installation of Mast Foundations
  • Dogging/Rigging associated with the installation of OHW Masts and Portals
  • General labour duties
  • Operation of Hi-Rail MEWP’s
  • Operating forklifts
  • Driving Light/Heavy Vehicles

Applicants must have the following:


  • Dogging and/or Rigging Licence (DG, RB, RI, RA)
  • EWP ticket >11m
  • Working at Heights Certificate (preferred)
  • HR/MR Driving Licence
