Are you up for the challenge?
We are looking for experienced Office Manager to lead the day‑to‑day running of our Sydney Corporate Office.
This is a highly visible, front‑of‑house role that combines leadership, judgement and strong organisational capability. You will set the tone for how the office operates by creating a professional and welcoming environment, while ensuring services run smoothly, standards are met and issues are dealt with decisively.
Working closely with senior leaders, employees and service partners, you’ll balance competing priorities, manage sensitive information with discretion, and drive practical improvements that make a real difference to how the office functions.
This is a full‑time role working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional availability required outside business hours to support office events and key activities.
About the Role
- Manage end‑to‑end workplace operations across Sydney Corporate Office, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and a positive employee and visitor experience.
- Lead workplace optimisation initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Act as an agent for change by identifying and implementing improvements in processes, space utilisation, services, and costs.
- Build strong relationships with leaders and teams to deliver practical and scalable workplace solutions, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- Lead, coach, and develop reception and administration teams, ensuring efficient resourcing, performance, and customer‑centric service.
- Establish and maintain office standards, procedures, and audit‑ready documentation, ensuring compliance with governance and policies.
- Oversee property, facilities, and vendor relationships (e.g. cleaning, security, catering), ensuring performance, compliance, and service level adherence.
- Establish all files and computer directories and maintain a filing system of general reports and correspondence.
- Design and implement office policies.
- Manage budgets, contracts, and financial controls for workplace services and office spend.
- Coordinate office readiness and onboarding for new starters, including desk setup, access, equipment, and induction support.
- Manage workplace technology and assets (e.g. registers, allocation, recovery, and reuse), escalating issues as required.
- Identify and manage workplace risks and incidents, ensuring timely resolution and tracking actions to completion.
- Deliver efficient travel and meeting support services, driving process improvements and resolving issues promptly.
- Assist the EA to the Executive General Manager and Managers with tasks as required.
- Uphold John Holland’s policies, processes, and professional standards, ensuring confidentiality and integrity.
About You
You will bring significant experience as an Office Manager in a corporate environment and a clear understanding of how to run a professional, well‑governed workplace.
You combine strong organisational capability with confidence using business systems and technology, allowing you to manage complex office operations and competing priorities effectively.
You bring:
- A business administration qualification (Certificate II, III or IV or similar)
- Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint and systems such as Workday or similar finance platforms
- Experience overseeing vendors, contracts, budgets and office services
- Sound knowledge of administrative practices, records management and governance expectations
You take a structured, practical approach to your work and set high standards for how a workplace operates.
