About John Holland

At John Holland, our purpose is simple – we transform lives with everything we do.

We’ve always known that infrastructure is about people — our customers, our employees, and the communities in which we work every day.

That’s our difference. Deep experience and capability with a genuine care about creating better lives for people along the way.

Be part of the team that’s up for the challenge of transforming lives for good.

Are you up for the challenge?

We are currently looking for an Organisation Development (OD) Manager to design, implement and evaluate organisational development initiatives that support John Holland’s strategic objectives.

This position plays a key role in driving culture, capability and change programs across the business, enabling high performance and engagement. You will also be responsible for the continuous improvement of OD strategies, programs and frameworks to ensure alignment with business needs and best practice.

This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

About the Role

  • Drive the design and delivery of OD initiatives that have enterprise-wide impact, ensuring alignment with John Holland’s strategic objectives and People Strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to shape long-term OD priorities, providing guidance on workforce capability and leadership development needs.
  • Lead the execution of key capability and/or culture change initiatives, ensuring alignment with the desired organisational values and behaviours.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with external consultants, facilitators, and industry bodies to bring innovative OD solutions and best practices into the business.
  • Develop and oversee evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness of OD programs, using data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement and program refinement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on organisational change, leadership development, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Facilitate enterprise-wide leadership workshops, insight sessions, and focus groups to drive engagement and alignment on key priorities.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Diversity & Inclusion teams to integrate inclusive practices and leadership capability-building into talent strategies.
  • Monitor workforce analytics and employee engagement trends to identify opportunities for enhancing organisational effectiveness and performance.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to HR teams and project leaders to strengthen organisational development capability across the business.

About You

You are an experienced organisational development professional with a tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or a related discipline, and a strong track record delivering OD initiatives in large, complex organisations. You bring solid experience across change management, culture and leadership development, and enjoy working at enterprise scale.

You are practical, organised and comfortable managing competing priorities. You know how to turn insight into action, whether that means shaping initiatives, using data to improve programs, or engaging leaders in meaningful discussions. You build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation, work confidently with external partners, and communicate clearly to help people understand and support change.
