We are currently seeking an experienced payroll team leader to join us in the role of Payroll Supervisor.  This position is an 18-month parental leave contract, and can be based out of Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

The role supports the payroll team on a day-to-day basis for all BAU activities and is accountable for providing accurate, timely, and efficient payroll services to 4500+ John Holland employees in Australia and New Zealand.

 

About the Role

  • End to end accurate processing of payrolls using Chris21 and other People Systems
  • Ensure JHG processes and procedures are complied with in processing of Payroll
  • Complete end to end testing of system upgrades and report issues
  • Assist with Audits when requested
  • Train team members and collaborate with Payroll Manager for training needs and development of self and team
  • Ensure Payroll Accounts are advised of cashflow when required and liaise with Finance 
  • Review payroll reports and GL files prior to providing to Finance
  • Maintain payroll procedures, checklists, and workflows
  • Review all reconciliations from Payroll i.e. superannuation, end of month, payments, deductions and pay runs
  • Responsible for any rates uplifts including EBA's, annual salary review and other statutory updates
  • Upload annual salaries, bonuses, incentives and retention payments into Chris21
  • STP2 submission to ATO, reconciliation, processing of adjustments and payments
  • Click Super reconciliation and payments
  • Request Chris 21, Kronos and SuccessFactors system changes and test all Payroll related system changes
  • Key contact and responsible for ensuring Payroll, SuccessFactors and Time and Attendance systems are compliant for Payroll requirements and payments in line with statutory requirements and EBAs 
  • Carry out all reasonable instructions from the Payroll Manager and other Senior Managers from Peoples Team
  • Able to run Payrolls and manual pays as back up for Snr Payroll Advisors
  • Able to run reports in response to Ad hoc report requests and regular monthly requests
  • Able to calculate Redundancy estimates
  • Participate in UAT testing or any other project related tasks for various ongoing projects
  • Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems and procedures
     

About You

This position will see you having significant payroll experience in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.  Experience working in construction is well regarded.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience processing pays using Chris21 (Essential)
  • Working knowledge of SuccessFactors 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of payroll legislation and processes, e.g. Tax, Superannuation, and Terminations
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership of small teams
