About the Role

John Holland is offering a foundational HR opportunity for a recent Law, Commerce or Business graduate to join a national employee relations advisory team. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering an exceptional service, with a genuine interest in employee relations and industrial relations. This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in the dynamic and ever-changing construction industry.


Reporting to the Group Manager, Industrial Relations, you will be responsible for providing high volume and quality HR administrative support, with a primary focus on managing subcontractor evaluations against the Building Code compliance framework.


As a member of the John Holland People team, you will also gain exposure to:

  • Employee Relations, including performance management, counselling, and dispute resolution
  • Industrial Relations, including interpretation of relevant legislation, awards and enterprise agreements
  • Employment law and Migration legislative framework and compliance
  • Various HR systems, including SAP and SuccessFactors, and how they support the employee lifecycle 

 

To be successful, you must have;

 

  • Currently studying or recently completed a Bachelor degree in Law (or similar)
  • Prior work experience with a focus on customer service
  • A positive attitude and a strong work ethic combined with a hunger to learn, develop and acquire new skills
  • Ability to build and develop good working relationships  
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software such as Microsoft Office 
  • Excellent attention to detail
