About the Role

We are interested in hearing from Project Controls Managers, ideally with experience in major infrastructure project work, with exposure to design, construction and commissioning. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that all Project Controls Systems, including information systems, are properly and effectively designed, documented and implemented.

Key Functions will include:

  • To ensure the successful delivery of tenders and projects within the required constraints for time, cost, quality, safety, environment and all Company procedures
  • Build, lead and manage the Project Controls team
  • Develop and implement procedures for Project Control Management
  • Identifying opportunities for reduction in schedules including consideration of time, resources and cost implications
  • Liaison with other project departments to ensure appropriate project control systems are established and applied
  • Coordinate with design, commercial and other groups for allocation of resources to deliver project requirements
  • Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators to benchmark project performance
  • Provide project controls management advice and support to senior JV Managers as required
  • Ensure effective management across:
    • Contract Management
    • Planning / Programming
    • Cost Control
    • Risk Engineering
    • Progress control and critical issue identification
    • Critical path analysis
    • Budgeting exposure
    • Contract Analysis vs Progress reporting

We are seeking candidates with:

  • Tertiary qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • Exposure to multi-billion dollar heavy infrastructure projects
  • 10 + years experience in Project Control Management, ideally within Australia
  • Experience in the development of Project Controls Plans (Strategies)
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of the proposed Project Controls function and systems.
  • High level of interpersonal and effective communication skills to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Effective in technical problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work within a team or autonomously
  • Ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to manage stress and work-load under pressure
  • Ability to work closely with safety and other departments to control and maintain project safety standards
  • Able to handle several tasks at once and meet multiple deadlines
