We are looking to recruit a Project Controls Manager to join our MEC team. The role will Establish and manage the process of planning, and monitoring performance to deliver the best quality projects on time and on budget of MEC for major and complex projects with multiple MEC discipline streams in accordance with John Holland procedures over the full project lifecycle.


Responsibilities of the role include;


  • Develop and implement project control strategies and audits / reviews for the MEC discipline for Business Group, region or major projects. 
  • Ensure project project control activities are conducted in accordance with John Holland policies and procedures. 
  • Ensure monitoring and reporting of Project Controls processes are successfully set-up and implemented on projects.
  • Interface with project team, partners, clients, stakeholders, consultants, designers, vendors, subcontractors for management of the planning function in accordance with established procedures
  • Early identification and communication of issues and opportunities to the Business Group, Region or Major Projects team.
  • Provide training and provide guidance to subordinates and colleagues in the use of planning and programming systems, project monitoring & controls and the interpretation of data and information generated


To be successful in this key role, you must have;


  • Tertiary degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines - Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture or Project Management, or equivalent experience 
  • 12 years + experience in Construction, Engineering, Planning and Project Controls within the MEC disipline
  • Experience in the planning process and the use of risk management
  • Use of planning software & tools such as Primavera Project Planning, Time Chainage Charts, Schedule Risk Analysis, Program Forensic Analysis, Earned Value and Cash Flow Analysis Contemporary practices in design and construction methodology 
  • Multi-disciplined project planning experience 
  • Leadership and management of planning teams.
  • Experience in managing planning of major projects and tenders
  • Ability to use software such as 4D Modelling, BIM & other digital engineering packages
