We are currently looking for a Safety Advisor to join the rail team working on MTMS



- You will assist with the running of the Workplace, Health and Rail Safety function under general supervision and implement safety practices, systems and procedures within a complex brownfield rail environment
- Provide support to both WHS & RS Manager and Project nior Safety Advisors in implementing established Safety Systems on site.
- Provide expert advice relating to best rail construction industry Safety practices, systems and procedures to MTMS senior site supervisors and superintendents specific to the rail environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to collaboratively reach positive outcomes
- Administer and effectively facilitate education and compliance programs for employees, contractors and visitors which relate to the rail environment
- Provide hands-on safety support function to MTMS2 delivery teams during weekend possessions, in a complex brownfield rail construction environment.
- Ability to liaise with Clients and resolve complex safety issues associated with working around and on rail infrastructure on site and promote positive safety culture during such interactions.
- Provide full support to the established HSE Committees.
- Initiate and coordinate accredited training programs for HSE committee members and first aid officers.
- Conduct site safety inspections and support MTMS WHS&RS Manager in external and internal safety audits
- Manage development and implementation of WRA and assist the WHS&RS Manager in leading the development and implementation of prevention programs.
- Conduct return to work coordinator activities.
- Assist in providing specialist advice on Safety Interface coordination.
- Provide direction and support to the Project Learning and Development Team to ensure all project workers hold required competencies as per JHG standards.
- Coordinate and undertake the investigation of Safety related occurrences and events and provide specialist advice on corrective actions.


- Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent;
- Demonstrated experience of at least 3-5 years in complex high risk rail environments with a proven track record of consistent, successful and positive outcomes
- Must be available to work weekend possessions and night shifts in accordance with the requirements of the rail environment
- Experience in conducting and interpreting audit reviews;
- Experience monitoring, reviewing and reporting on performance, compliance and defects;
