About the Project 


John Holland Seymour Whyte Joint Venture (JHSWJV) have been successfully awarded the contract for the design and construction of Sydney Gateway Stage 1 and Stage 3.  The project includes 5 kilometres of new road, 16 bridges and close to 3 kilometres of active transport links. 
Benefits of the project include increasing road capacity at Sydney airport, both domestic and international airports.  As well as assisting traffic links to Port Botany and St Peter’s interchange.  JHSWJV will support more than 4,000 jobs over the life of the project.  


Stage 1: International Terminal and Qantas Drive connection – a new high capacity road connection, linking the Sydney Motorway network at St Peter’s interchange with Sydney Airports International Terminal and Qantas Drive.


Stage 3: Domestic Terminal access – an arterial road connection and flyover to Sydney Airport’s Domestic Terminals. This Stage includes improvements to existing roads, to relieve congestion and improve connectivity to Sydney Airport Domestic Terminals and towards Port Botany. 


About the Role


The JHSWJV team are seeking an experienced Senior Environment Coordinator to lead, drive and monitor the implementation of project environment programs to ensure adherence with relevant environmental legislation, regulations and contractual obligations.


Key Responsibilities include:


  • Provide environmental guidance, diligence and consistency to internal stakeholders
  • Provide advice and input into the identification and effective management of environmental risks 
  • Effectively communicate environment matters to management and project staff
  • Identify and initiate localised environment improvement initiatives 
  • Support project induction and environmental management systems/tools training 
  • Guide, support and mentor Environmental Coordinators 
  • Liaise with Government bodies and professional organisations on environmental matters as required 
  • Identify and communicate improvements to corporate and project environmental management processes



What You’ll Need to Succeed:


  • Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability or other associated disciplines
  • A minimum of 3 years Construction Environment Management experience 
  • Knowledge of compliance and reporting procedures and processes
