About John Holland

At John Holland, our purpose is simple – we transform lives with everything we do.

We’ve always known that infrastructure is about people — our customers, our employees, and the communities in which we work every day.

That’s our difference. Deep experience and capability with a genuine care about creating better lives for people along the way.

Be part of the team that’s up for the challenge of transforming lives for good.

Are you up for the challenge?

We are looking for an experienced Senior People Analyst to join our team in Pyrmont. This role will see you partnering with key stakeholders across the business, including the Chief People Officer and General Managers of People teams.

You will work with stakeholders to understand their People Analytics requirements and suggest appropriate solutions through the identification and prioritisation of requirements including the development of detailed analytics and dashboards, queries, and opportunities to create self-service capability for stakeholders.

About the Role

  • Integrate and manipulate People data in Power BI utilising DAX queries and functions aligned with best practices ensuring data quality.
  • Ensure large and/or complex data is accessible, understandable and usable, and conveying key messages, through appropriate data visualisation techniques and methods.
  • Maintain regular reports and processes, including the Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) practice for Data Lake through the integration of different data sources.
  • Build and maintain dashboards using enterprise-standard tools, Power BI, and modern visualisation standards and techniques to support insights and storytelling.
  • Providing impactful insights on People data to key stakeholders, supporting data-driven decision making.
  • Engage with different People stakeholders to understand their data needs, develop analytics, and provide data interpretation.

About You

This position will require you to hold a tertiary degree in analytics, statistics, computer science or a related discipline.  Whilst not essential, knowledge and experience of the HR/People function will be highly regarded.

 You will have:

  • Excellent knowledge of Power BI, with experience in DAX queries and expertise in ETL and BI data modelling.
  • Advanced use of Excel and data analytics
  • Knowledge of data management strategies including data collection, storage, preservation and utilisation for further processing.
  • Excellent data interpretation skills including the ability to deliver clear, targeted and impactful insights
  • Ability to develop clear and succinct data visualisations for supporting data-driven decisions
  • Strong ability to extract insights from data
  • Previous experience accessing, manipulating and interpreting data to inform decision making.

You will be a well organised, self-motivated team player, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. Your high level of critical and numerical reasoning, along with your keen eye for detail and ability to proactively troubleshoot, will see you excel in the role.

As part of the team, you can help us transform lives.

Your success is reflected in ours, so we’re committed to being an employer of choice. We pride ourselves on having a diverse and inclusive workplace, as we understand that different perspectives and ideas are critical to our long-term success.

We want you to be with us for the long term, so providing you with rich career experiences and ongoing development is our priority.
