About the role:

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join our Infrastructure team based in our John Holland Head Office, in Pyrmont, NSW.  Reporting to the Regional Planning Manager the successful candidate will have a high level of understanding in all areas of construction planning and scheduling.  You will be responsible for providing bid and project delivery planning expertise to our Infrastructure and Major Project teams.

Depending on your expertise you will have the option to specialise in pre contracts/bid planning or alternatively attach yourself to a project to deliver an innovative construction plan.

We are interested in engaging with talented and ambitious planners to work on large, complex infrastructure projects.  Ideally you want to be part of a high performing team that will deliver a high profile transport project.

What you will do:

• Establish and manage the process of planning, creating detailed programs and monitoring project and plan performance.
• Work as part of the bid team and/or construction team, be part of delivering successful and innovative planning outcomes.
• Interface with project team, client, stakeholders, vendors and subcontractors for management of the planning function in accordance with established procedures
• Ensure monitoring and reporting of Project Controls processes are successfully set-up and implemented on projects
• Implement project monitoring systems, particularly focussing on time, cost, resources, and quality (project controls and earned value). Ensure that planning & controls reports generated across project provide maximum cost and time forecasting
• Proactively contribute to the planning and controls culture across the project based on best practice and with a focus on risk management and cost control.

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

• A clear interest and love of all things Infrastructure, big projects, small projects, complex engineering challenges and enjoying having your name on the project.
• Tertiary degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines - Engineering, Construction, Building or Project Management or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience in Engineering, Construction, Planning and Project Controls
• Use of planning software & tools such as Primavera Project Planning, Time Chainage Charts, Earned value and Cash Flow Analysis
• Strong organisational and communication skills
