More Trains More Services (MTMS) consists of two partners, working as ‘one team’ collocated in the IDE’s head and project offices. To drive effective management on the upcoming program of works, MTMS is looking to add to its high caliber workforce to safely and efficiently deliver rail systems to allow as title of the Projects states: More Trains during peak hours and therefore allow more services to the Sydney based commuters.  
 
We are looking for a Senior Safety Advisor to join our fast-paced team working on MTMS. You will assist with the running of the Work, Health and Safety  function under general supervision and implement safety practices, systems and procedures within a complex rail environment
 

Responsibilities of the role include:

- Provide support to WHS&RS Manager in implementing established Safety Systems on site.
- Provide expert advice relating to Safety practices, systems and procedures to MTMS senior site supervisors and superintendents
- Administer and effectively facilitate education and compliance programs for employees, contractors and visitors.
- Provide full support to the established HSE Committees.
- Initiate and coordinate accredited training programs for HSE committee members and first aid officers.
- Conduct site safety inspections and support MTMS WHS&RS Manager in external and internal safety audits
- Manage development and implementation of WRA and assist the WHS&RS Manager in leading the development and implementation of prevention programs.
- Conduct return to work coordinator activities.
- Assist in providing specialist advice on Safety Interface coordination.
- Provide direction and support to the Project Learning and Development Team to ensure all project workers hold required competencies as per JHG standards.
- Coordinate and undertake the investigation of Safety related occurrences and events and provide specialist advice on corrective actions.
- Maintain records of all Safety requirements, in accordance with legislative company requirements and provide statistical summaries of these records.
- Perform all duties in accordance with MTMS policies, processes, systems and procedures

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have:
- Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent
- Experience in conducting and interpreting audit reviews
- Experience monitoring, reviewing and reporting on performance, compliance and defects
- Experience in fast paced, construction environments
