We are currently looking for an independent and creative thinker to join our Strategy team in the role of Strategy & Analytics Analyst.

Reporting to the Group Manager Strategy & Business Planning, you will support the development of John Holland’s Group strategy through targeted research, analysis and insight generation.  This role can be based out of either Sydney or Melbourne.

About the Role:

As a key member of the Strategy team, you will support the development of business-critical strategies that require cross-functional coordination and/or advanced analysis. 

This may include:

  • Presenting strategic insights in clear and compelling ways to solve key strategic questions through analysis of quantitive and qualitative information from disparate and wide-ranging sources
  • Supporting the Business Units to assess new and adjacent market sectors, including recommendations made on market entry
  • Supporting the execution of the business planning process which includes working closely with corporate functions and Business Units to:
    • Collect and synthesise inputs;
    • Develop key deliverables (e.g. Board Strategic Plan presentation); and
    • Enhance the business planning process
  • Staying on top of relevant industry, competitor & market trends, and collating/sharing data and insights with key business stakeholders

About You:

This position will require you to hold a Degree qualification in Commerce or equivalent.  You will have previous exposure to corporate strategy within a large corporate, consulting or advisory setting, with construction experience highly regarded. 

We are looking for someone who has the ability to generate the “so-what” from their analyses by using their outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills to distil complex information in a rigorous and efficient manner to provide meaningful advice and solutions.  Strong commercial nous and proven financial and commercial acumen (e.g. P&L familiarity) are essential, as is the ability to measure, analyse and communicate business performance.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to stakeholders at various levels (including senior leadership), coupled with your ability to develop strong relationships across the business, will see you succeed in this role.
