Title:  Sustainability Specialist

About the Role

As Sustainability Specialist, you will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to support the development, delivery and implementation of John Holland's ESG and Operational Sustainability strategies.

You will help drive sustainability performance, ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation, and contribute to reporting, awareness and continuous improvement initiatives. This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

What you will do

• Support JH Operations and other key stakeholders with delivery of the ESG strategy, including consolidating reporting.
• Facilitate the development of Operational Sustainability strategy, and the development and implementation of Net Zero and other ESG strategies.
• Support projects, business units and the Group Manager Environment and Sustainability to implement the Net Zero pathway and CRROs management.
• Support the Operational Sustainability team in tenders, ensuring sustainability priorities are incorporated into project strategies.
• Work with the Governance and Reporting team to develop climate change and sustainability reporting, including the preparation of annual sustainability reports.
• Facilitate the identification and ongoing monitoring of sustainability data flows, systems and performance to support accurate reporting and track sustainability requirements.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in Sustainability, Science, Environment or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience delivering sustainability outcomes and implementing sustainability strategies within construction projects.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to achieve sustainability outcomes.
• Knowledge of AASB S2, NGER and associated legislation.
• Experience working with sustainability-related compliance, reporting and management systems.
• Understanding of sustainability processes and governance requirements.
