We are currently looking for a WHS Rail Safety Advisor to join our team located in Seven Hills. As WHS Rail Safety Advisor you will monitor and support the safety function under general supervision and to provide support and coordination of safety practices, systems and procedures on a project.

 

Responsibilities of the role include;
- Lead the ongoing development of our safety culture
- Support the project team to implement our safety framework and systems
- Analyse performance and address issues through targeted initiatives and programs
- Lead risk management and mitigation processes across multiple work sites
- Design initiatives for employee health and wellbeing
- Lead and support the incident management and Investigation process
- Provide an extensive understanding of Rail Safety Accreditation from both a construction and operations and maintenance perspective, ensuring John Holland maintain the competence and capacity to manage safety risks associated with our rail construction and operations
- Assist with conducting incident and accident investigations that may require litigation.
- Support the communication of SQE requirements to the project


To be successful in this key role, you must have;
- Diploma qualifications in H&S or other related discipline
- Experienced in an industrial environment or heavy industry (7+ years)
- Strong communication, leadership and influencing skills
- Excellent knowledge of H&S legislation and associated regulations
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead and implement change across the H&S area
- Problem solving capability with practical solutions
- Ability to work with people at all levels
- Experience with change management in an organisational setting
- Highly developed literacy skills with experience in the preparation of reports, plans and other business documents
