About the Role

We are currently seeking an Electrician (Rail Signalling) to work within our Western Australian Signalling and Communications Team, based in the Pilbara, WA. These roles will be reporting to the Electrical Supervisor.

The role will be Pilbara based on a 2/1 roster, with Perth as a point of hire.

Responsibilities of the role include

  • Signal Electricians are responsible for the installation and removal of power/signal cable and wiring of infrastructure in the rail corridor including:
  • Termination of train stop disconnection boxes and equipment
  • Termination of points disconnection boxes and equipment
  • Termination of main aspect and subsidiary signals
  • Termination of location cases
  • Termination of signalling bungalow equipment
  • Termination of track circuit equipment
  • Jointing of cables
  • Assist with testing
  • Signal Electricians work closely with Signal Mechanics who are responsible for the installation of signalling infrastructure

To be successful in this key role we are looking for:

  •    Current Western Australian “A” Grade Electrical Worker’s Licence

Highly Desirable

  • Rail signalling experience
  • Fabrication and termination hand skills
  • Safe operation of electrical tooling
  • Comprehension of electrical drawings/layouts
  • Team orientated and ability to work autonomously as required
  • Decision making skills
  • Willingness to adapt and learn
  • Flexibility of working times
  • Clear and concise communication skills (written and oral)
  • Reliable and prompt
  • Importance on safety, quality, time and stock management
  • Housekeeping practices
