We are seeking an experienced and proactive Overhead Line Electrification (OLE) Supervisor to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead electrical systems for railway electrification projects.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in overhead line systems, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. This role is primarily based in Perth, but applicants must be willing to travel to sites across Australia as required.
About the Role
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of overhead line installation, maintenance, and repair teams to ensure safe, efficient, and quality work.
- Plan and organize work schedules, resource allocation, and logistical support for electrification projects.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and work plans to guide team activities.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field teams.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Manage safety protocols, conduct safety briefings, and ensure all team members use appropriate PPE.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, safety incidents, and equipment usage.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for team members.
- Investigate and resolve issues or delays that may impact project timelines or safety.
- Ensure proper inventory management of tools, equipment, and materials
About You:
- Proven experience in overhead line electrification, electrical construction, Certificate III Rail Traction
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in a construction or railway environment.
- Strong knowledge of overhead line systems, electrical safety standards, and relevant regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Valid certifications/licenses related to electrical work and construction supervision (e.g., OSHA, equivalent regional standards, Public Transport Authority Rules).
- Experience with project management tools and safety management systems.
- Ability to operate Road Rail EWP vehicles
- Perform Pole top and EWP rescue. Perform EWP controlled descent escape
- Prior experience supervising on Overhead line electrification railway systems
- Knowledge of high-voltage railways electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to train and mentor team members.
- Familiarity with specialized equipment such as tensioning devices, cranes, and EWPs
Safety Requirements:
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Regular safety training and certifications.
- Enforcement of safety protocols and procedures among team members.
- Use of PPE and adherence to electrical safety standards at all times.
- Must be able to obtain Category 1 Safety Critical Rail Worker health assessment
