About The Role:
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of works, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Signalling Technician to join our busy WA Rail Signalling & Communications team.
This role is based in Perth, working primarily on the Public Transport Authority (PTA) network, with occasional travel to the Pilbara to support major shutdown works.
The role will predominantly involve night shift work, with occasional weekend work as required.
Applicants must hold a Certificate IV in Railway Signalling.
This is a full-time position within a highly skilled and hardworking team of rail professionals, offering the opportunity to become an integral, long‑term member of our organisation.
While the position is Perth-based, periodic FIFO travel to the Pilbara will be required for major possessions and shutdown activities. All FIFO travel will be from Perth (point of hire).
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Removal and replacement of track circuit equipment
- Removal and refit of axle counter wheel sensors (optional: axle counter resets)
- Removal and refit of Automatic Train Protection (ATP) transponders
- Boom gate Disablement and Reinstatement
- Test & Commissioning of Points, Tracks & Signals
- Assisting with the Test & Commissioning of Interlockings and Level Crossings
About You:
You may hold the following relevant tickets/licenses and qualifications:
- Cert IV in Rail Signalling is essential
- Supervised Worker (SW) track access accreditation at a minimum.
- WA Electricians Licence or WA Electrical Fitters Licence
- 5 years rail signalling maintenance or installation experience using a detailed CV/Resume with referees OR Hold either the UEE41220 Certificate IV in Electrical – Rail Signalling or UEE41223 Certificate IV in Rail Signalling.
- Construction Induction Card
- Rail Industry Worker Card
- Strong understanding and focus for safety.
- Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
