About you and the role

John Holland has been awarded the $500m Western Treatment Plant Upgrade for Melbourne Water. This is a long-term project due to complete in mid 2027 and we’re looking for a passionate Senior Safety Advisor to join the team based in Werribee, VIC. 

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

• Provide Health and Safety specialist advice and technical input to delivery, ensuring that legal, contractual obligations and risks are identified and communicated appropriately. 
• Coordinate and conduct investigation into workplace incidents. 
• Conduct routine safety inspections and monitoring work areas.
• Maintain professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, regulatory bodies and clients. 
• Monitor and evaluate the project Health and Safety programs for value and effectiveness. 
• Evaluate, investigate and gather information that will address inadequacies concerning safety matters. 
• Review specific high risk planned works to be undertaken to ensure compliance with the method of work.

What we are looking for:

• Previous Safety experience on large infrastructure projects. 
• Diploma in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Previous experience working on mechanical & electrical scopes is desirable. 
• Knowledge and skills in safety management techniques and tools. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
• Flexible to work on-site Monday-Friday starting at 7am for pre-starts. 
• People focused with the ability to build strong relationships.
