The Torrens to Darlington Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia is partnering with the South Australian Government to deliver the $15.4 billion River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project, the largest and most complex project ever undertaken in South Australia
The T2D Project involves constructing 10.5km of non-stop motorway, including two separate tunnels with three lanes in each direction, connected by an open motorway. Open to traffic in 2031, the Alliance is offering an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.
The Role:
The Business Engagement Manager will be responsible for leading initiatives that support and mitigate the impact of construction activities on local businesses.
Reporting to the Director, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, this role will collaborate closely with the Construction Engagement, Property Engagement and Community Benefits teams to ensure a coordinated approach and maximise positive outcomes for the business community.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement business support plans for local businesses throughout the construction phase of the Torrens to Darlington Project
· Serve as the primary point of contact for highly disrupted business stakeholders, managing relationships and acting as a liaison between the businesses and the construction project
· Liaise with construction team, community and key stakeholders to respond to project 24/7 1300 number queries and effectively manage concerns raised
· Work closely with the Construction Engagement team to communicate construction timelines, access changes, and any potential disruptions to businesses
· Coordinate with the Property Engagement team to address business concerns related to property access and rectification issues
· Partner with the Community Benefits team to identify and leverage opportunities for local business involvement in community initiatives
· Liaise with the construction team to ensure businesses and key business stakeholders are notified in advance of works in accordance with the Community Relations strategy
· Facilitate problem-solving and conflict resolution with businesses affected by the project, providing tailored solutions to mitigate impacts
About you
- Tertiary Degree (Bachelor level) or certificate or relevant experience (Disciplines relevant to function area, e.g. public relations, journalism, stakeholder management, marketing)
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in business engagement, stakeholder management, or a related field, with experience in the construction or infrastructure sector being highly desirable
- Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing a team
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by businesses during large-scale construction projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence positive outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement engagement strategies and support programs
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
