The Project:

The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.

 

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

 

The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031.  The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.

The Role:

As a Civil Project Manager – Roadworks, you will lead the successful delivery of your project area, ensuring it meets all design requirements, timelines, and budget constraints.

 

You will drive performance across commercial, HR/IR, safety, quality, environmental, and community engagement targets. Your leadership will be key to achieving financial goals, proactively managing risks, and capitalising on opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead project delivery to meet design, safety, quality, environmental, time, and cost targets, ensuring compliance with all contractual and commercial requirements
  • Drive safety culture through regular discussions, incident reviews, and promoting best practices across teams and subcontractors
  • Manage budgets and forecasting with accuracy, ensuring cost control and consistent monthly reporting
  • Engage with the community and stakeholders to provide updates, maintain positive relationships, and ensure smooth project execution
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering high performance, supporting training, and promoting wellness and diversity initiatives
  • Identify and implement efficiencies, sustainability innovations, and continuous improvements while managing subcontract scopes, claims, and design changes effectively

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience managing major infrastructure projects, preferably in roadworks or civil construction
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, commercial procedures, and cost control practices
  • Committed to safety excellence with the ability to lead and promote a positive safety culture
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including community and client liaison
  • Skilled at mentoring and developing teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
