The Project

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.

The Role:

As a Commercial Manager on South Australia’s largest ever infrastructure project, you will be responsible for providing commercial and contractual expertise and guidance to the wider project team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure project managers, contract administrators and key stakeholders understand and comply with project commercial requirements, policies and procedures
• Review and approve acceptance for proposed major/high risk subcontracts
• Attend contract acceptance and review meetings to ensure commercial and contract administration issues are addressed and managed appropriately.
• Interpret the tender and apply the commercial and contractual agreement both at Head Contract and Subcontract level as per the Security of Payments Act.
• Manage commercial and contractual issues, including high level dispute and claim management, risk management, and accurate forecasting of both cost and revenue.
• Lead identification and quantification of Head Contract scope changes and support the Upstream Commercial Manager with all subsequent negotiations with the Client.
• Undertake post-contract completion reviews, analyse results, and undertake corrective actions where necessary.
• Establish and develop a high performing team through coaching and mentoring.

About you:

As a Commercial Manager on T2D you will have demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within the Construction or Engineering industries couple with:

• Bachelor’s degree in law, Commerce, Quantity Surveying, Business or other associated businesses.
• Experience in the execution of various contracting strategies and compensation models for EPC, EPCM, BOO(T) and Owner led execution delivery models on multi-billion-dollar projects is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving capability, negotiation skills, influencing and relationship management with a passion for mentoring and coaching individuals and teams.
