The Project

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

 

The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.

The Role

Perform quantity take-off and track design growth to ensure the design is within the budget. Develop and maintain cost planning dashboard to generate cost planning report for engineering review.

 

Provide cost assessment for changes of the scope of works and facilitates value engineering exercises.   

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain Cost Planning Dashboard / Report in accordance with JH standard procedures and templates. 
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, briefs, scopes, and standards and assess their impact on project costs.
  • Perform quantity take-off from 3D models and 2D drawings to provide up-to-date quantity tracking.
  • Review unit rates in the Cost Plan and obtain market pricing in the event of specification and material changes.
  • Tracking and reporting key quantities.
  • Provide mitigation strategy for cost blowout and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Evaluate design options and propose value engineering options.
  • Assist commercial managers in the development of variation and claims.
  • Collect and maintain cost benchmarking data through the complete lifecycle of cost planning.
  • Review and highlight the risk and opportunity assessment
  • Assist the Project Cost Control team on project cost forecasting activities.

About you

  • Tertiary degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines - Engineering, Construction, Building, Quantity Surveying or other associated disciplines or equivalent experience
  • 5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying and Cost Planning
  • Experience in Infrastructure & major civil projects
