The Project
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.
The role
As a Gantry Crane Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of gantry cranes to support all precast activities. You will work closely with the plant and logistics teams to ensure the timely movement of materials, equipment, and segments, contributing to the smooth progress of the project.
- Operate gantry cranes to lift, move, and position materials, equipment, and precast tunnel segments safely and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance to ensure the crane is in safe working condition.
- Follow lifting plans and adhere to load limits to ensure safe crane operations.
- Collaborate with the TBM and logistics teams to coordinate lifting activities and meet project schedules.
- Monitor and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of crane operations and lifting activities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, site procedures, and company policies.
- Assist with other site duties as required to support project progress.
Qualifications
- A valid High-Risk Work License for crane operation.
- Proven experience operating gantry cranes, preferably on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of lifting techniques, load limits, and crane safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret lifting plans and follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive approach to safety and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Flexibility to work in a shift-based environment, including weekends and nights, as required.
