The Project:

The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.

 

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

 

The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031.  The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.

The Role:

 As a Junior Cost Controller, you will work closely with senior cost controllers and project teams, you will support the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of project costs to help ensure financial performance and budget compliance.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support Cost Controllers to review the analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information for use in management and decision making
  • Compile monthly project reports and KPI’s
  • Review and analyse operating results in relation to cost, budgets and operating policies. Consolidate capital asset, maintenance and operating budgets.
  • Participate in the development of short and longer-term financial policies, objectives and plans and oversee the implementation of agreed financial plans.
  • Support in the preparation of schedules for financial reporting in accordance with management and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor outstanding debtors and assist project Managers to resolve
  • Audit the procurement process and ensure that all requisitions and related invoices are authorised by the nominated person
  • Audit project wage employee remuneration including timesheets..
  • Compile, review and analysis forecast information to evaluate the final financial position of the project
  • Liaise with the projects/companies external auditors as required.
  • Contribute to the selection and/or training of finance staff.
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key personnel informed.

About You:

  • Degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or working towards)
  • 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role (cost control, finance, or project support) preferred
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or above)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a project or commercial environment
