The Project
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.
The Role
As legal counsel on the T2D alliance will play a key role in managing legal risks and compliance whilst supporting the alliance's strategic objectives. Additional responsibilities include;
providing quality legal advice and support to the alliance across a range of areas, with a particular focus on construction law.
Based in our Adelaide CBD office and reporting to the Governance and Legal Manager your key responsibility will be to provide quality legal advice to the alliance
Roles and responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements with contractors, suppliers, and government bodies.
- Assist with the dispute-resolution processes including negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting the infrastructure industry and advise on compliance matters.
- Support and provide legal advice with the implementation of alliance policies and procedures, to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel on complex legal matters and manage the relationship with stakeholders and comms to ensure high-quality and cost-effective services.
- Participate in the development and execution of the alliance's strategic initiatives, providing legal insights and risk assessments.
About you
- Post-graduate qualifications in law, business, commerce or associated disciplines
- Admission as a solicitor or barrister in Australia
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role; preferably within the construction, infrastructure, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of Australian construction law and commercial law.
- Proficiency in contract law, with experience in the negotiation and drafting of complex contracts.
