The Project

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031.  The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure.

The role

Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) General Superintendent to oversee the delivery of all M&E works across this landmark project — South Australia’s largest road infrastructure development.

This role is critical in managing the installation of complex M&E systems within tunnels and surface road networks. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors to ensure that all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Requirements

• Degree or trade qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field
• Extensive experience in Mechanical/Electrical management on Teir 1 or equivalent projects. Ideally within tunnelling on other large scale infrastructure environments
• Tunnelling expertise in tunnel and road systems including ventilation and smoke extraction systems, HV/LV electrical distribution, fire detections, suppression and life safety systems, ITS communications and surveillance, mechanical plant, pumping and HVAC services
• Supervisory or high-risk work licences
