The Project

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

 

The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.

The Role

 

As the Payroll Lead for the T2D Alliance, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing for a workforce of up to 1,000 weekly-paid construction employees. Working closely with HR and Finance, you will ensure the seamless integration of payroll systems from all Alliance partners and guarantee compliance with legal, regulatory, and enterprise agreement requirements. 

Roles and responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end payroll function for a large, EA-based 1000 strong workforce.
  • Accurately interpret timesheets and award conditions to ensure compliance with applicable industrial instruments.
  • Process payroll on a weekly basis for a large, site-based workforce. 
  • Interpret EBAs and manage complex project based payroll conditions including - allowances, overtime and entitlements 
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records in line with changes to awards, EA provisions, and legislation.
  • Work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment of data and processes.
  • Resolve payroll queries efficiently, ensuring a high standard of customer service to employees.

About You

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing high-volume, EA-based payroll processes.
  • Strong understanding of Australian employment awards, enterprise agreements, and Fair Work requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the full payroll cycle and relevant legislative requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software systems (e.g. Kronos, Dayforce) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • High level of discretion, accuracy, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
