The Project
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, comprising of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has successfully secured the contract to deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
The project scope is concentrated on a 10.5km motorway, including more than 4kms of twin three lane tunnels, road and bridge construction and complex M&E installations. Open to traffic in 2031, the T2D alliance will offer the people of Adelaide an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project, career stability and the opportunity for career progression and development.
The Role
The Quality Advisor is responsible for supporting the Quality Manager in the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) within the alliance.
The role involves ensuring that all project activities comply with relevant standards and specifications and that they meet the client's quality requirements.
Roles and responsibilities
- Implement and oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) specific to tunnel construction, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant industry standards.
- Conduct detailed quality inspections and audits within the tunnel and associated structures to ensure adherence to project specifications, engineering drawings, and quality plans.
- Collaborate with the engineering and construction teams to ensure quality control measures are understood and effectively executed in tunnelling activities such as excavation, lining, concrete works, and waterproofing.
- Manage the documentation and records related to quality assurance for all tunnelling phases, including material approvals, test reports, and inspection records.
- Investigate any instances of non-conformance or quality issues within the tunnel construction works, facilitating root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice on tunnel-specific quality requirements, including geotechnical considerations, segment manufacturing, and tunnel boring machine (TBM) operation.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and third-party auditors to ensure quality objectives for the tunnel project are clearly communicated and met.
- Develop and deliver quality training sessions for site personnel, focusing on tunnel-specific risks and quality expectations.
- Participate in project and design review meetings, offering quality-related input for the tunnel construction phases.
- Support the Quality Manager in developing and updating quality policies, procedures, and manuals for tunnel construction activities.
- Promote a proactive quality culture within the project team, emphasizing the importance of quality in ensuring the structural integrity and longevity of the tunnel.
About you
About you
- Preferably a bachelor’s degree or equivalent course in engineering, quality assurance or project management
- Delivered on major civil infrastructure projects or similar will be highly regarded
- Experience in implementing project QA management systems.
