The Project:
The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031. The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.
The Role:
As a Safety Advisor, you will provide expert guidance and support to ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety standards during night shift operations. This role focuses on risk management, incident response, and promoting a strong safety culture across all night works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert Work Health and Safety (WHS) advice and guidance to supervisors and crews throughout night shift operations.
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, project safety management plans, and company policies.
- Conduct thorough site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support incident management processes, including timely reporting, detailed investigations, and root cause analysis.
- Lead and facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to promote engagement and reinforce safe work practices.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive safety documentation while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the project.
About You:
- You hold a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety as a minimum requirement, with a Diploma in WHS considered highly advantageous.
- You have 3-5 years' experience in a safety advisory role within civil construction or major infrastructure projects.
- You possess a comprehensive understanding of WHS legislation, risk management principles, and incident investigation processes.
- You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- You are confident working independently during night shifts, making sound decisions under pressure.
- You take a proactive approach to fostering a positive safety culture and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
