The Project:
The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.
The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031. The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.
The Role:
Reporting to the Building Project Manager, the Senior Project Engineer – Buildings will play a key role in the planning and delivery of Maintenance and Operations Centres and Surface Buildings across the Project.
Working closely with construction teams, subcontractors, consultants and project stakeholders, you will provide strong engineering leadership across the building works, ensuring construction is delivered safely, efficiently, to program and in accordance with project requirements.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of major building packages within a complex, high-profile infrastructure project and work alongside experienced industry professionals across the T2D Alliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day engineering activities across Maintenance and Operations Centres and Surface Buildings.
- Lead subcontractor and site team engagement to drive safe and efficient delivery.
- Coordinate construction activities, engineering requirements and project interfaces.
- Manage Technical Queries, RFIs, Design Proposals and construction changes through to resolution.
- Develop, monitor and maintain construction programs, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Monitor project progress, cost, quality and performance against approved requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and engineering support to construction and project teams.
- Prepare progress reporting, workforce forecasts and escalate key issues to project leadership.
- Ensure all building works comply with WHS legislation, project specifications, quality requirements and T2D Alliance systems.
About You:
- Degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in engineering, design or construction management.
- Proven experience delivering major building, commercial, industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on Tier 1 or equivalent large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of construction planning, engineering coordination and project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors, consultants and multiple project stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with project systems and technology, including ACONEX and Power BI.
