The Project:

The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.

 

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

 

The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031.  The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.

The Role:

As Senior Project Engineer you will join the M&E Building Team to support the delivery of Maintenance and Operation Centres Buildings and Surface Buildings on the Torrens to Darlington Project.

 

Reporting to the Building Project Manager, you’ll oversee construction delivery, coordinate Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) integration, and ensure all works meet safety, quality, and program requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day coordination of M&E building works, including supervision of subcontractors.
  • Plan, manage and deliver surface buildings and associated mechanical and electrical integration.
  • Drive accountability for safety, quality, and productivity across all site activities.
  • Coordinate interfaces between civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical packages to prevent delays.
  • Manage design queries, change proposals, and engineering issues during construction.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with Alliance leadership, design teams, and client representatives to resolve issues.
  • Prepare and deliver progress reports, forecasts, and risk assessments to senior leadership.

About You:

  • Degree or trade qualification in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in construction and/or design management on major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of building services, M&E integration, and interface management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple subcontractors effectively.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to WHS and quality standards, with a proactive approach to compliance.
  • Experience in large-scale projects, ideally within an Alliance or Tier 1 environment.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as ACONEX, Power BI, or CMMS systems (preferred).
